Help! I keep getting logged out of the forum

Hi everyone,

We've had technical difficulties today resulting in many members being logged out of the forum automatically. Apparently the problem is dues to 'cookies'.

So to fix the problem you need to:

1. Click on ‘Delete all board cookies’ at the bottom of the forum page

2. Click ‘Yes’

3. Then you need to delete all cookies from your browser. This link gives instructions on how to do this depending on what browser you are using (e.g. Internet Exploer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Crome etc.) http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cookies

4. You should now be able to log in to the forum

i found clicking back on to home page then back on to the forum did the trick.

I always blame myself if the computer misbehaves, so it's a relief to find out this time it's not just me, but the link wasn't much help to me as I don't know how to find out which version of Explorer this laptop uses. I know I've found out before but it's too late in the day for the little grey cells to think straight!

I sent you an email - but forgot to put my user name on it.

Thankfully, I have just read the mail you sent to all members.
As you see, this time the door was unlocked for me.

As you can see I can now log in.... But I can't get to View New Posts.

I just posted a new topic, but afterwards it wanted me to log in again to post here.
Have tried to resent cookies on browser [Google Chrome].

Any ideas? Computer [Mother's] is so old it should be in a museum.... so suggestions it needs replacing will be met with derision, bearing in mind my wonderful iMac has been rusting in the garage for the last 2 years thanks to my stubborn caree - doubt it will ever work again *sobs and prepares for its funeral*

delete the shortcut that appeared on your web page and it will work perfectly.

still not working on computer eventried forgot password option , works on this here phone but can't express myself when trying to type on keys the size of an ant. Bugger. LOL

Hi Nenuphar,

For Google Crome, follow these steps (but make sure you do them in the exact order as I don't think it works otherwise!)

I will email you this as well in case you can't log in to see this!

2. Click ‘Yes’

3.Click the wrench icon in the top right corner of Google Crome window, choose 'settings'

4. At the bottom of the page click 'show advanced settings'

5. Click 'clear browsing data' and a window will open.

6. Make sure 'Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data' is ticked

7. In the drop down list, choose 'from the past month'

8. Click 'Clear browsing data'

Technical issues like this are the last thing we need at the top of the forum because they only afflict a minority. Can we please get the gekky-tekky stuff lower down the sightline, because it is a true turn-off

or more to the point sort there software out so we don't need the thread,how long does it take to realise the shortcut on web page don't work,it took me 2 days,posted this and got ignored,nothing unusual there then!!!!!! ps deleted it and it's worked fine for a week now.

lucy,at the top of your web page(google) above the name of the site you're on there's a star then favourites it appeared on there and thats what messed my ability to log in up,deleted it and everything ok again.
