Good going Jeanette...at 147 now.

It is getting closer Rosemary, and a few more have said they will sign it for me.187 have signed as I write. Have been informed a big consultation with Carers of peopl with learning disabilities is on the cards!! I wonder if it is to do with the new valuing people which has just come out? I have to take any opportunity I can find to raise awareness ,but it seems disgraceful that I should have to go to such lengths!!

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/uk-ead-ld/

Only 13 to go but someone said ..the more I get the more notice will be taken!!
Have you noticed NO ONE on any board supporting me so well, has actually come forward and said they have the same problem? I am told it is very rare hense nothing out there...but at the same time ..this terrible disease is coming ..as particulary people with down's syndrome get older /live longer. Have also read that other people with L/D have a two per cent chance more of getting it than the average person out there!!
am still on a very long learning curve!!!

Had an Email this morning requesting us to attend a meeting of the Health Overview and Scrutiny committee in The Council House discussing Dementia. They want us to talk about our experiences!!!! Am so looking forward to it!! Only problem is that we need a few hours of care for our daughter. Will see if we can get it, but think we will !!
