I have been my son's primary carer for almost three years, but I constantly battle to prove that he still needs care (he is in remission from cancer).

I also want to say that carers need support long term, and carers are probably emotionally must vulnerable when their caring role comes to an end for whatever reason, because it is only then that the carer actually has the time to think about what they have been through.
