An interesting article...
Re: An interesting article...
Interesting article and pleased you shared it. Personally, apart from 2 really close friends, with everyone else if they ask how I am - I just say "fine" or "okay". I don't even tell the reality of it all to family. I find most people these days have something to cope with in their lives. Plus I like the normality and no-one changing their tone when talking to me.

That's what I use forum for sometimes. No one here will judge,
will share their own experiences, signpost to other places for support. Here I can open up and say if things are ok or if I am struggling, and once posted the responses come in and help lift us again. Like the saying goes... “It's not how many times you get knocked down that count, it's how many times you get back up. ”. Sometimes we can rise again on our own, other times we may need a helping hand, and by God there are many members on here that will offer that needed hand to newbies and regulars alike.
Thanks again MrsA.

What we needed was a safe place to admit that we don’t always get things right.

I found it interesting too. I'm fine thank you is a standard response, when sometimes I would really like to say how I really feel! Wouldn't make any difference to the situation though. As stated by me many times, the forum is a lifesaver. Venting or expressing emotions really helps.
Sometimes memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks

I came across the article because Carers UK had posted it on their Facebook page. I do think they should post things on here too. It's almost like they ignore us real carers
