About Carers Wales

Carers Wales is part of Carers UK.  We are a charity set up to help the 350,000 + people In Wales who care for family or friends.

Families and communities in Wales are strong.  Carers provide 96% of all community care in Wales.

At some point in our lives, almost every one of us will be involved in looking after an older relative, a sick friend or a disabled family member.  Caring is part and parcel of life but without the right support the personal costs of caring can be high.

Caring can take its toll on your finances, your health, your career and your family and social life.  You may have to give up work to care and rely on low-level benefits, forcing you into poverty.

Without you, our NHS would collapse and Wales would face a £7.7 billion care bill it cannot afford.  You contribute so much to your family and community by looking after the person you love, yet in return you may face, isolation, worry and get little or no recognition of support for what you do.  Carers Wales  is here to help you.
