Aims
A human rights-based approach is increasingly important both in supporting and advocating for carers and disabled people, and for public auhtorities, in meeting statutory obligations. This course will examine these important issues in ight of the law and caselaw developments
AIMS
· to enable participants to understand the baisc principles of human rights law
· to investigate the relevance and application of human rights priciples in health and social care
· to promote greater confidence in applying human rights in individual cases
INCLUDES
· an introduction to the framework of the Human Rights Act 1998
· a detailed consideration of the human rights that are applicable in a range of health and social care situations
· an overview of the relevant caselaw
a consideration of likely future developments in this area including the effect of the “Bournewood” provisions
