The treatment and care of people with mental health problems often involves complex laws and procedures. This course explains the relevant legislation with a focus on the rights of individuals and their carers, and examines ways of resolving potential conflcts between carers and cared for people.
AIMS
· to present an overview of the laws and procedures affecting people with mental health problems and their carers
· to examine the relationship between mental health law, human rights and community care
· to identify the rights of individuals and their carers
