This course is designed for participants already familiar with community care law. It covers more complex areas of law in this field and provides an update on new developments in legislation and case law. There will inevitably be considerable overlap between this course and Community Care Law: Recent Developments, and undertaking them in close proximity is not recommended.
AIMS
· to examine how recent legislation and guidance fits into the community care legal framework
· to understand how recent judicial review cases have affected community care law
· to identify current legal issues and likely future trends

· recent developments affecting assessments, eligibility and servce provision
· continuing NHS healthcare responsibilities
· the impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 on community care law
