The assessment process is the gateway to community care and continuing care service provision and so it is important that both public authorities and advisers and lawyers understand the legal framework.  This course sets out the law and policy guidance in this area and explains its practical relevance.

 

AIMS:

·         for participants to understand the law, guidance and caselaw on assessments for service users and carers

·         to identify unlawful aspects of assessments and care planning

·         to understand the legal relevance of resources and eligibility criteria
