Nearly 250,000 carers aged over 60 could be missing out on Pension Credit and a further 64,000 carers throughout the UK are not claiming a top up to Pension Credit known at the Carer's Addition. For the Carer Addition alone, this could be up to an estimated £86 million of forgone income every year. As this report shows, this income is vital in maintaining a basic level of living for older carers.
