Policy Resources

One way Carers UK tries to change things for carers is by influencing the policy agenda of government and public bodies. We do this in various ways :

we produce research
we do briefings for politicians about how legislation will affect carers
we repsond to government consultations
we collect good practice and work with local councils about what works

The papers in this resources section are all in PDF format (Portable Document Format). You need special software called an Acrobat reader to read these which most PC's will have. If you don't have it you can download it for free from www.adobe.com

Carers UK's policy briefings include the organisation's position on key issues such as benefits and breaks for carers and includes action that can be taken to bring about change.

Carers UK responds to government consultations that are likely to affect carers.
Interactive policy tool : Care to take a look?
This interactive website and CD-ROM is aimed at policy makers, giving a background to the issues carers face.
ACE Employment toolkit
This new website toolkit brings together a wide range of resources that help develop services to support carers to remain in or return to work.
