In September and early October Carers UK will be attending the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative Party Conferences and taking our messages about carers to politicians, policy-makers and employers.
The main theme of our events will be the future of the social care system. We are holding an event at each of the conferences under the banner of our Right care, Right deal campaign with Counsel and Care and Help the Aged.
We have also organised the first ever 'Care Reception', bringing together 25 organisations with an interest in health, social care, disability and older people. Health Secretary Alan Johnson MP and Carers Minister Ivan Lewis MP will be speaking alongside Imelda Redmond, Chief Executive of Carers UK.
At all the events we will be urging Ministers, shadow ministers and MPs to recognise the role carers play in society and improve support for carers.
"Party Conferences are a vital part of our work to lobby for greater justice for carers. They set the agenda for the coming year and we'll be making sure that carers are a key part of that agenda." Imelda Redmond, Chief Executive, Carers UK
