Carers UK continues it's 'real change not short change' campaign by sending out thousands of campaign postcards to carers and organisations across the UK.
Campaign blog #2: July 17th 2007
by Matt Hill, Communications and Campaigns Manager, Carers UK
This stage of the campaign is all about reaching those carers who don't have access to the internet and won't read this blog! We've started by directly writing to about 15,000 carers who are supporters of Carers UK. We've also written to the thousands of organisations who support carers across the UK.
Just below the blog on this page you can download a sample of the postcard and the leaflet we sent with it. I'm really pleased that Don Jones agreed to help us by being the face of the campaign and talking so openly about his experiences as a carer. Don cares for his sister and they are the people you can see on the leaflet and read about here on the website. Don has summed up the campaign when he says "Surely I'm worth more than £48 a week?"
This leaflet was sent to thousands of carers to explain the campaign.
