Main Content: Chance to provide training for carers
Organisations with the expertise to help carers are being invited to become part of a national programme called Caring with Confidence.
Carers UK is one of five partner organisations involved in Caring with Confidence (previously known as the expert carers programme).
The programme is now at the stage of recruiting local organisations to provide face-to-face group sessions to carers. Notices inviting organisations to express an interest in becoming a Caring with Confidence programme provider will be advertised in:
- Guardian (society section) – Wednesday 22 October 2008
- Community Care – Wednesday 22 October 2008
- Health Service Journal (HSJ) & www.hsj.co.uk/tenders - Thursday 23 October 2008
Full details will also be available at Caring with Confidence website - www.caringwithconfidence.net
There will be three ways an organisation can become a Caring with Confidence provider:
- As a fully-funded provider (individually or as part of a consortium) to deliver the full range of Caring with Confidence programmes in a local area
- As a licensed but unfunded provider (individually or as part of a consortium) to deliver the full range of Caring with Confidence programmes in a local area
- As a fully-funded provider to deliver the programme, across England, for people caring for someone nearing the end of life.
Organisations that are interested can formally register and will be sent a pre-qualification pack. Two bidders’ information days (one in London and one in Manchester) are planned to provide further information for interested parties. Details of these will be provided with the pre-qualification pack.
