Back up for carers

Caring for someone can be a tough job. It can be emotionally difficult and physically demanding. Without the right support caring can seriously damage your health. No one can do it alone without back up. Yet many carers are doing exactly that because the social care system that is supposed to provide back up is failing.

Carers UK's Back Me Up campaign is calling on Government to invest in the health and social care system. We want a care system which offers families a clear, sustainable and simple deal. In return for their caring commitment families need to know what help they can expect, when they can expect it and who will pay for it.

The problem - social care in crisis.
Without the right support caring can seriously damage your health. No one can do it alone without back up. Yet many carers are doing exactly that because the social care system that is supposed to provide that back up is failing.
What we want
We want a future where people can live their lives, their way, supported by a care system which is funded through a clear, simple and sustainable deal, entered into by the state, community, family and individuals.
