This is for people who are in full time work. Working Tax Credit is a means-tested payment, so the amount you get depends on your circumstances and the amount you earn.

Who can claim?

To qualify for Working Tax Credit, you or your partner must:

  • work 16 hours a week or more and be aged 16 or over and

you are responsible for a child or
you have a disability that puts you at a disadvantage of getting a job and have been or are claiming a disability benefit or
you are 50 or over and returning to work after receiving specified benefits

        or

  • work 30 hours a week or more and be aged 25 or over

You must also be on a low income and satisfy residence and prescence conditions.
