Equal Partners wants to hear about  good practice and problems in your area. Also how you are using our information and materials.  We will use these examples so that carers can use carers' examples to strengthen their message to local authorities and other people in charge. Your views also help Carers UK's  national campaining work by providing powerful evidence to the Goverment of what's happening 'on the ground'.

Current hot topics : We are currently gathering evidence on these issues:

Carers UK has heard that some areas have recently cut carers' 'companion' passes which allow them to

travel with the disabled person for free or subsidised rates.  Disabled people are being prevented from using

community and leisure services because they need help from their carer.  This is up to the discretion of local

authorities, so the more evidence we can collect, the stronger a campaign we can mount.

Has your Council cut local passes for carers? Tell us about it and give us the evidence to build a campaign.

The Government plans to make individual payments more widely available so more people will be able to choose their own care services e.g. day services, leisure, housing.  More information.  We’d like to know what you think about this proposal: take part in our online poll - more...
