The Government is asking for your say on its proposals for new Local Involvement Networks (LINks) - the new organisations which will replace Patient Public Involvement Forums. Have your say and get carers' views heard...
The Government aims to strengthen the ability of local communities to influence what health and social care services are provided and how they are run. The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill contains proposals to establish Local Involvement Networks (LINks) to help achieve this aim. LINks will have specific powers to hold local health and social care services to account.
The major difference between the new LINks and the old Patient Public Involvement (PPI) Forums is that LINks will be able to hold social care to account as well as the NHS, which is important for carers.
This consultation document outlines draft versions of these regulations, explains more about them, and asks for views and comments on them.
You can have your say on the proposals here... The deadline for comments is 21 December 2007. Remember, if you take part in the consultation send us a copy: equalpartners@carersuk.org
